Saint Valentine
This sophisticated Valentine’s Day cocktail was created by the Professor, David Wondrich. The sweet, almost fruity port and rum in this drink will have you wondering why champagne is so popular on Valentine’s Day.
Ingredients
- 1 ½ oz good, flavorful white rum such as Banks 5 Island
- ½ oz Fonseca Bin 27 Ruby Port
- ½ oz orange Curacao or Grand Marnier
- ½ oz fresh-squeezed lime juice
is the fonseca bin 27 port a must have in this recipe, or can another port be substituted? and also the flavored white rums. with so many flavors and brands, is there a specific flavor that should be essential to this recipe other than banks 5 island?
In my opinion, you can always use another ruby port and white rum. While it will give the drink a slightly different flavor, it should be close enough to not dramatically affect the taste
