Manhattan 101
Not only is September Bourbon Heritage Month, Jimmy Russell, Wild Turkey’s Master Distiller is celebrarting his 58th year making Bourbon. Here’s their twist on the venerable Manhattan.
Raise a toast to Jimmy for giving this fine Kentucky Bourbon.
Ingredients
- 1 ¾ ounces Wild Turkey bourbon
- 1/3 ounce dry vermouth
- 1/3 ounce sweet vermouth
- 1 thin slice fresh ginger
- 3 mint leaves
- ½ tsp powdered sugar
- Dash aromatic bitters
I’ve tried adding dry vermouth in equal parts to my generic Manhattan and did not like it. I think I’ll give it another chance with this recipe! I may play around with the types of bitters some if it is good!
