Monday night marked the closing of San Francisco’s First Cocktail Week Celebration. The event took place at Absinthe, the wonderful Brasserie in Hayes Valley. The bar at Absinthe has become ground zero for great cocktails in San Francisco.

In a marketing case that just sounds too good to be true, Japanese vending masters Apex Corp. have purportedly laid out plans that will bring free or subsidized non-alcoholic beverage to thirsty consumers who are willing to watch a 30-second commercial before partaking. Imagine needing a Guinness (this happens often at DOTW) and finding it with your phone. That’s what mobile marketing company Naviblog and drinks maker Diageo had in mind, when they released “Guinness Navi” yesterday: a service that allows you to find your nearest Guinness-serving pub by just clicking on your phone. The service is available only in Tokyo for right now, apparently.
