  • Godiva Chocolate Vodka Review

We received a bottle of Godiva Chocolate Vodka just in time for winter and the holidays! I don’t know what it is, but I love having a chocolate martini at the office holiday party. There is something festive, decadent and delicious about combining Vodka and chocolate (and in some cases, cream and Baileys too).

The great thing about the Godiva Chocolate Vodka is that the chocolate and the Vodka come combined. This means that making … Read more

    Chocolate-Coconut Rum

Dark chocolate and coconut are an amazing combination. You can bring those flavors to your cocktails with this simple infusion. The bitter cacao nibs in this recipe bring the tantalizing chocolate aroma without adding more sweetness. The coconut rum brings in a hint of sweetness and tempers the intensity of the cacao.

You can use this as the base for a Manhattan-style drink made with sweet vermouth and orange bitters, or along with some vodka … Read more

  • Beer and Pretzel Marshmallows

What’s better than kicking back with some beer and pretzels? Why, adding some chocolate and marshmallow to the mix, of course! Beer and pretzel marshmallows are a brilliant creation.

Confectioner Truffle Truffle makes beer marshmallows (I didn’t know there was such a thing), dips them in chocolate and tops them off with a beer and pretzel brittle. Sweet, salty, crunchy, chewy … with beer. Though they were created for the Super Bowl, I don’t think … Read more

  • Chocolate-Covered Strawberries

Chocolate-covered strawberries are the perfect romantic treat for Valentine’s Day. They pair well with Champagne and sparkling wine. They look pretty on the plate. However, they are actually inexpensive and easy to make.

When pairing this with champagne, you can’t go wrong. But if you’re looking for a nuanced pairing, keep in mind that you want the Champagne or sparkling wine to be as sweet as the chocolate. “Brut” has the least sugar, which would … Read more

  • Oatmeal Stout And Heath Bar Ice Cream

What an amazing idea! “A Good Appetite” came up with this tasty-sounding recipe for Oatmeal Stout and Heath Bar Ice Cream.

I’ll have to try to make this one myself.

The ice cream base has a slight bitter flavor but also a bit of a toffee flavor from the stout. The sweetness of the Heath bar is a good foil to that bitterness while the toffee in it helps bring out more of that toffee
