  • Ultimate Bell Pepper Cocktail

I had a dream once about a bell-pepper cocktail served in a hollowed out bell pepper. Last night, I made half the dream come true. (Serving it out of a bell pepper seemed messy and inconvenient.)

My friend grew some beautiful bell peppers and was game for helping me figure out how to best use the sweet and spicy flavor in a cocktail. What we came up with was tasty and unlike any cocktail I’ve … Read more

    Watermelon Granita

This Week’s Drink is brought to us by guest blogger Caitlin D. (@catincal).

I’m the kind of girl who giggles for no reason, loves twirly dresses and is the first to grab a karaoke microphone. Oh, and I love cocktails.

I’m a huge fan of outdoor dinner parties in the summer and love matching a festive, seasonal drink to a traditional BBQ menu. One of my favorite bartenders, Esteban Ordonez, created the following recipe with … Read more

  • The Bee’s Teas Gin Cocktail

Beefeater 24 gin inspired me to concoct this simple cocktail that plays with the tea and citrus notes of the liquor.

I think it accentuates the spirit’s flavor and is a good match for its smooth and rich nuanced character.

Using frozen fruit and berries as ice cubes is a new thing I’ve been doing lately.

Not only is it pretty, but it cuts down on the water that will be added to your drink … Read more

  • Strawberry Ginger Martini

It’s Mixology Monday time again and this month Rumdood is hosting the event. Although, Rumdood is all about rum, he chose Ginger as this month’s Mixology Monday theme.

Having an almost full bottle of the amazing Ginger Liqueur Domaine de Canton on the bar, I seized upon this opportunity. After checking the Domian de Canton site, I found a plethora of drinks to try. It was hard to choose as they all looked tasty. I … Read more

  • The Marpessa

Cachaça is one of the hottest spirits this Summer thanks to the growing popularity of the caipirinha. Mixologists everywhere are quickly becoming fans of the spirit and taking cocktails way beyond the caipirinha and into unexplored and delicious territory.

This week’s drink is no exception. The “summer of cachaça” kicks off today, June 12th,

InternationalCachaça Day. The holiday was started by Sociedade Brasileira da cachaça, a Brasilian government organization. It was created to commemorate … Read more

  • The Regal Ransom Cocktail

In preparation for the Kentucky Derby, I’ve created a cocktail named after the top contender—Regal Ransom.

This drink accentuates some of the bourbon’s undertones. Mixing bourbon with a syrup of honey and pears brings out the spirit’s sweeter side. The tea and lemon balance the sweetness and compliment the oaky qualities of the bourbon. Overall, this cocktail lets the bourbon shine through while still giving you something light and refreshing.… Read more
